The Creative Musicians Coalition (CMC) is an international musicians association dedicated to the advancement of new music and the success of independent musicians. Ron Wallace founded CMC in 1984 as the Computer Musicians Coalition to help musicians and educational institutions make use of the new midi technology. A few years later as the industry changed and the internet took hold its purpose became more marketing and networking oriented. CMC holds bragging rights as the very first online record store in the world.
