To set up your profile...
1) Log in - Go to the top of the page, select "MY PROFILE".
2) Select "Edit profile" from the right hand menu. Input the profile fields (about me, description location, interests, skills, contact email, telephone, mobile phone, website). All are optional.
For each of the fields, select who you want to see that field. You can change to: Private, Logged in users, Public (or if have joined any group, you can limit any profile field to display to any group only).
3) Select "Save" when you are done.
You can change these fields and whom you want to see them any time you wish.
4) Select "Edit profile icon" to add your picture. Select "Browse" to locate the gif, jpg or png file on your computer. Once the picture is displayed, drag the cropping tool to view the portion of the picture you want to display. When done, select "Create your avatar".
5) You have complete control over what you want people to see in your profile relative to your activity. You can display as little or as much as you want users to see in any format you want by changing the widgets for the page. The default includes all of the widgets, you can remove any you wish, or you can move any you wish to any of the 3 columns. Select "Edit page" on the bottom of the screen to change the look as you like. It's recommended that you leave the page as the default until you have enough time and experience to modify it. Once you have made any changes to the widgets, select "Save." Or select "Cancel" if you don't want your changes to take hold.
6) You also have complete control over who sees what widget and how much. On your Profile page, each widget has an "Edit" button. Each widget has different edit functions. For example, for the Friends widget you can select the Number of Friends you want to display, the Size of the Icon you want to display and who is to have Access to that widget. Like in your profile fields, you can give access to: Public, Friends, Logged in users, or, if you have joined any group, limit the widget to display to a group only. Every widget has choices relative to that widget. Once you make a widget change, select "Save" for that widget.
That's the basics.
