The Central Illinois Jazz Society Serving Central Illinois Since 1978 presents
Doug Lady Sextet at 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. and the
CIJS House Band at 7:15 p.m.
Sunday, March 21, 2010 NEW LOCATION!! Finish Line Banquet Room, located in Landmark Recreation Center 3225 N. Dries Lane, Peoria
Doug Lady is a native Peorian, but has been living in Milwaukee for the last 19 years. He has been playing piano since the age of 7 and studied piano performance at Western Illinois University. He was also the co-founder and former President of the Central Illinois Jazz Society. He is still entrenched in the music business working as Senior Vice President of Hal Leonard Corporation, the world's largest print music publisher and also performs with jazz groups in the Milwaukee area.
Doug is excited about returning to perform for the Jazz Society again, and this time he is reuniting with many of his friends from the Peoria area: accomplished players such as Larry Harms on sax, Dave Hoffman on trumpet, Mike Nellas on guitar, Tim Brickner on bass and Cory Flanigan on drums. The group will be performing some favorite jazz standards as well as some lesser known, but interesting pieces. The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The CIJS House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. This talented group is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them and Live Jazz. For more information call 692-5330 or visit www.peoriajazz.com. For more information about our new location, visit www.landmarkrec.com.
