In need of a relaxing night out? Away from the hustle and bustle? A time to wind down? How about a healthy dose of smooth jazz?!!

Many moons ago I ran into Dick Marsho at a local printer. It was nice meeting him again since we hadn't seen each other for quite some time. He said he was involved in a jazz organization and they were in the planning stages for a Jazz Festival in Peoria. I had been in the music business for many years so I was fascinated by what he had to say.

I investigated the Jazz Festival further, liked what I heard, and jumped on board helping its founder, Butch Duffy, in any which way I could.

I learned the jazz organization was called the Central Illilnois Jazz Society (CIJS) and during the jazz festival and planning meetings, I met many of the fine folks involved with the society.

In the following years I made and managed a little website to help promote their group and activities. I kept abreast of all that they were doing. It's a fun bunch.

Most recently I've decided to replace the CIJS web site with a Group community on our new CitiSlicker. This offers the greatest potential for exposure for CIJS and jazz in the Peoria area. I am pleased to say the CIJS Group is now formally open to the public, and I encourage everyone to support this excellent opportunity.

You will learn that CIJS has jazz concerts once every month. These events are wonderful opportunities to wind down and relax.
